SuperKaramba is a tool that allows one to easily create functionality enhancement modules on a KDE desktop. Currently, only Linux is officially supported, although it also works well on FreeBSD and NetBSD.

This program is similar to gDesklets for GNOME, Yahoo! Widget Engine for Windows and Mac OS X, DesktopX for Windows, and Dashboard for Mac OS X and also the 'gadgets' subset of Google Desktop for Microsoft Windows.

The interactive programs are usually embedded directly into the background and do not disturb the normal view of the desktop. The use of SuperKaramba is not limited to KDE, but certain libraries from KDE are required. SuperKaramba is included in KDE 3.5.

Application: SuperKaramba [STABLE 2009]
Size: 264 KB

Used by MPlayer and some other multimedia programs in order to add support for video and audio codecs that are not yet implemented natively, like newer RealVideo variants and a lot of uncommon formats. Note that they are not necessary to play most common formats like DVDs, MPEG-1/2/4, DivX, Xvid, and so on.

This also supported on other player in simpleLinux such as KPlayer, RealPlayer etc.

It can be installed so easily by following How to's, try it out! It do support almost all formats you might ever heard!

Wireshark is a free and open-source packet analyzer. It is used for network troubleshooting, analysis, software and communications protocol development, and education. Originally named Ethereal, in May 2006 the project was renamed Wireshark due to trademark issues.

Wireshark is cross-platform, using the GTK+ widget toolkit to implement its user interface, and using pcap to capture packets; it runs on various Unix-like operating systems including Linux, Mac OS X, BSD, and Solaris, and on Microsoft Windows. There is also a terminal-based (non-GUI) version called TShark. Wireshark, and the other programs distributed with it such as TShark, are free software, released under the terms of the GNU General Public License.
There is also a malicious rogue anti-spyware program called Wireshark Antivirus that reports false information. This is in no way related to the packet analyzer program, Wireshark, and the two should not be confused.

Application: Wireshark-1.2.4-i486-1
Size: 9.1 MB

Aircrack-ng is a network software suite consisting of a detector, packet sniffer, WEP and WPA/WPA2-PSK cracker and analysis tool for 802.11 wireless LANs. It works with any wireless card whose driver supports raw monitoring mode (for a list, visit the website of the project or [1]) and can sniff 802.11a, 802.11b and 802.11g traffic. The program runs under Linux and Windows; the Linux version has been ported to the Zaurus and Maemo platforms, and a proof-of-concept port has been made to the iPhone.
In April 2007 a team at the Darmstadt University of Technology in Germany developed a new attack method based on a paper released on the RC4 cypher by Adi Shamir. This new attack, named 'PTW', decreases the number of initialization vectors or IVs needed to decrypt a WEP key and has been included in the aircrack-ng suite since the 0.9 release.
Aircrack-ng is a fork of the original Aircrack project.

SQLite is an ACID-compliant embedded relational database management system contained in a relatively small (~275 kiB) C programming library. The source code for SQLite is in the public domain and implements most of the SQL standard. In contrast to other databases, SQLite is not a separate process that is accessed from the client application, but an integral part of it.

SQLite uses a dynamically- and weakly-typed SQL syntax that does not guarantee the domain integrity, which gives rise to criticism. SQLite is a multitasking database concerning reads. Writes can be done only one-at-a-time. It is a popular choice for local/client storage on Web browsers. It has many bindings to programming languages. Before a new version is released, extensive regression tests are performed, in an attempt to increase the quality of the product. It is arguably the most widely used database engine, as it is used today by several widespread browsers, operating systems, embedded systems among others.

Type: Lzm (simpleLinux Application package)
